Want to Know More About Gov 2.0?

Gov 2.0 is underpinned by the idea of openness and participation, placing the community at the centre of a new collaborative style of government.

Leveraging web-based technologies such as blogs, wikis, social networking and other social media tools, Gov 2.0 enables direct engagement and involvement by the community in the provision of government services and the development of public policy.

The Victorian Government recently released the Government 2.0 Action Plan providing a framework for the whole of the Victorian Public Sector to approach Gov 2.0. This follows on from the Victorian Innovation Action Plan, which is aimed at creating connections across government and stimulating opportunities for innovation.
