I hope you remembered to grab the Macbook Pro back from the Honorable Minster after he'd finished playing with it. Looks like he's enjoying it very much. ;-)

Oh don't you worry about that - i was keeping a good eye on it ;-). I think he did like it actually (and i think he said something about having a mac at home - Alex, can you remember?). It's always nice when a mac comes to the rescue (i popped mine out cause his office was having trouble with web access for some reason or another).

He did mention something about having a Mac at home. Although personally I am not impressed. :)

The combination of developing a strategic plan, which evolved into a specification for the wePlan Alpine site means that we can deliver and build upon best practice as the community and technology grow. This approach was well received and exceeded the expectations of Parks Victoria.

I think they (and others) will be looking at doing this kind of web assisted, public consultation and planning more and more into the future.

Overall this project has been a pleasure to work on and I look forward to watching the roll-out of the tools and strategies planned for the near future.

PS: The ministers office is incredible... its good to be the minister.

Your comment Alex reminds me to mention that a wiki component for the site is planned in the coming months to enable participants to help draft/edit the management plan. The wiki design is inspired by the collaborative consultation platform we designed and built for the City of Melbourne: Future Melbourne. Here's a 15min presentation I did on Future Melbourne for One Web Day.
